SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE MEDITATE

When I used to think meditation… I thought “Uhhhh. some stupid spiritual nonsense with some hippy sitting cross-legged in the Amazon jungle.”

How wrong I was! This year I’ve adopted meditation into my daily rituals. This includes…Twice per day…once in the morning before I get up out of bed and again finishing my day at night before bed.

I can definitely say that it has improved my mental health immensely but also gives me a tone of clarity. My days are planned with purpose and intent and it’s mostly due to the grounding virtue that meditation has given me.

When was the last time you took ten minutes out of your day to close your eyes, think about nothing, and take deep breaths?

My recommendation for first timers looking to try meditation is to download an app called “Insight Timer”. Start with a few guided meditations, twice a day. 5-10 minutes each time will serve you to be just fine. I literally do it lying down flat in bed because I’m at my most comfortable in that position. Do it however way you want which makes you comfortable.

Even if you try it and you still CAN’T SWITCH OFF and you keep thinking about sh**, keep doing it because you’re already ahead of the mind conquering game. it’s a skill to practice just like lifting weights or dropping 5kg’s of belly-fat!

I remember I took 3-days off meditation…I got depressed for no reason at all and felt so overwhelmed. I realised… “Hey shit, I haven’t meditated in like, 3 days!”

Hey! don’t take my word for it!

Try it for yourself, commit to at least 90 days till it’s a habit!
